Know more about us
Who we are
Chiranootana Urban and Rural Development Society is an NGO based in Ajjampura Taluk, Chikkamagaluru District, Karnataka. Established by a group of dedicated social workers in 2018, our mission is to contribute to societal betterment across various sectors including education, health, environment, and the welfare of women and children, along with rural and urban development.
Our organisation is funded by individual donors and supported by youth organisations such as the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. We have formed partnerships with the departments of Horticulture, Agriculture, and Forest, as well as with local hospitals and Gram Panchayats, among others
Our work and its impact
Our programme involves organising evening classes for underprivileged students in our district. With a well-equipped library, we hope to improve their knowledge by providing them with the necessary resources.
How we will utilise these books
The library located in Government Primary School, Kanabagatte will have access to multilingual STEM books from Pratham Books through these funds. This primary school operates classes from LKG to UKG, providing quality education to the rural children. The library will impact 100+ children in the district and these resources will allow children to broaden their understanding of the world in engaging and significant ways.
By enhancing our library with diverse educational materials, we aim to empower children in rural areas, giving them the tools they need to succeed.
