Who we are
Anand Nagar School is a government school that caters to students from low-income communities in Chembur. 400+ students from grades 1st to 10th are enrolled in the school.
Our work and its impact
Teach for India is a not-for-profit organisation that works with the belief that one day all children will attain an excellent education. At TFI, we believe leadership for education is the solution. I am a Teach for India fellow, and I work towards creating equitable access to quality education.
How we will utilise these books
The books will be read by students in grades 1st to 8th to expose them to different reading materials, encourage their curiosity and help them discover the fascinating world of storybooks. Through this Daan Utsav campaign, I am crowdfunding storybooks for 250 children. Developing a love for reading starts at a young age, and I don't want kids to be deprived of the joy of reading and learning just because they come from a low-income background. The funds raised will be used to set up classroom libraries for each of the grades with age-appropriate and multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books.
