Who we are
Rehnuma Welfare Foundation is an NGO established in May 2021. The objectives of the trust are to set up and operate welfare training centres, programmes, social projects, schemes and institutes in order to support underprivileged children and women by providing social welfare, healthcare and guidance. Our aim is to uplift the educational and economic standards of the marginalised sections of society and to work towards the elimination of practices like child labour, human trafficking, child marriage, etc.
Our work and its impact
We try to make up for the lack of quality reading resources in the village-run government schools in India by running successful community libraries. More than 100 children in the village of Deora in Bihar have benefitted from the public library. We are working on setting up a library in Palghar district in Maharashtra. We hope to encourage children to remain in school and thus improve the literacy rate, especially among girls by making free, quality educational resources available free of cost.
How we will utilise these books
The funds raised from our Daan Utsav campaign will be used to get storybooks for the libraries. Daily reading sessions will be conducted by a teacher and the students will be allowed to take the books home to read. The multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books will help improve their reading and writing skills and help them advance in their academics.
This Daan Utsav, celebrate the joy of giving week by helping us share the joy of reading.
