Who we are
We are a non-profit organisation established in 2020 with the goal of empowering women and children. We set up a free community library in 2021 in Tughlakabad, Delhi to help the children in that locality learn to read and write fluently. We are also associated with the Free Libraries Network.
Our work and its impact
We work with children from low-income backgrounds who are their families’ first-generation learners. We also work with Nilkantha orphanage in Balurghat, West Bengal to help them procure essential goods.
How we will utilise these books
The funds raised from our crowdfunding campaign will be used to get Pratham Books’ multilingual STEM storybooks for our community library in Tughlakabad. We will encourage our members to borrow the storybooks on a regular basis and invite non-members to visit the library and discover the joy of reading. We will also organise readalouds for the children to actively engage with them and help them grow into independent readers.
