Who we are
We are a primary school located in a remote area in Solapur district, Maharashtra. More than 40 students are enrolled in our school and most of them are from low-income families. We want to establish a library filled with engaging storybooks to help our students improve their reading and writing skills.
Our work and its impact
Reading is a basic skill that we want to encourage in our students. We believe reading regularly will help them develop their communication, linguistic, and cognitive skills, which in turn will improve their academic performance. The library will be a positive atmosphere for them to discover the joy of reading.
How we will utilise these books
The funds raised from this campaign will be used to fill the library with delightful, multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books. We plan to devote half an hour every day to a reading project and also initiate a 100-day reading campaign that we will conduct every year to motivate the students to read every day.
