Who we are
Child-friendly learning space is an initiative to provide a safe and inclusive space for children of diverse backgrounds to develop new skills. Children from all backgrounds in the village of Sindhkheda, Madhya Pradesh attend the learning centre and engage in various activities like reading, dancing, games, sports etc. The aim of the learning space is to remove the barriers of caste and class and encourage every child to respect and become friends with one another.
Our work and its impact
At our learning centre, we encourage children of ages 4 to 14 to make their own decisions and choices. They choose what to read, study, and are free to express their thoughts, opinions, and feelings fearlessly. Without the pressure of exams, they are given the freedom to follow their passions and develop their own learning patterns. The lessons they learn are hence not limited to test scores.
How we will utilise these books
We are adding a library to our learning centre to provide the children with age-appropriate storybooks in many Indian languages. The STEM books from Pratham Books will help the children widen their horizons and learn about Science and Maths in a fun way. The funds raised from this campaign will help to procure Pratham Books storybooks that will be part of the library. Apart from reading at the centre, the children will also be allowed to borrow the books to read at home.
