Who we are
Gift a Library is an initiative of the Kutchina Foundation that bridges the gap between those who do not have access to storybooks and those who want to share their storybooks. It was set up by Nita Bajoria, a member of the foundation and a book lover, to promote the habit of reading and at the same time, provide access to good quality storybooks.
Our work and its impact
We set up libraries in schools and ashrams, renovate old libraries, and create reading spaces. We have gifted libraries to schools in West Bengal and Bihar and aim to expand to Mumbai soon. We also accept book donations from people and give their old storybooks a new life by giving them to children who are waiting for new stories to read.
How we will utilise these books
The funds raised from this campaign will be used to procure delightful storybooks for the Gift a Library initiative. We want to help children discover the joy of reading, and with the help of Pratham Books’ age-appropriate and multilingual storybooks that explore diverse themes, we will help them nurture their love of reading and improve their communication and linguistic skills.
