Who we are
Founded in the year 2008, Sankalp Ek Prayas is a non-profit organisation that primarily works in the field of education. Our focus is on improving the futures of underprivileged children in Chhattisgarh by giving them the gift of education. As of November 2021, we have established 130 community centres that benefit 13000+ children across the state. We are aiming to expand our reach by building more community centres with the help of our passionate volunteers. We are also involved with the Seekh Programme - an initiative to help children achieve foundational literacy, and project GARIMA - an empowerment programme for adolescent girls.
Our work and its impact
Our volunteer-base is composed mainly of youth who work in close association with village communities, government education departments, and other social sector groups involved in promoting children’s welfare. Since 2018, we have supported 150 government schools to administer e-modules in primary and secondary schools. Our digital learning projects under the e-Merge and e-Uddan programmes have positively impacted over 15000 children.
In 2019, we won the Edu-Impact Award implemented by the Silicon Valley-based Asha for Education organisation for overcoming challenges in the field of education.
How we will utilise these books
With support from UNICEF, we have established 30 community libraries. Our aim is to expand to 100 libraries and spread the joy of reading with 10000+ children. The funds from this campaign will be used to get joyful, multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books for the libraries. Through the habit of reading, we believe the children will gain the confidence to dream bigger and scale new heights in their academic progress.
