Who we are
ThinkSharp Foundation is a non-profit organisation with a mission to improve the quality of rural education in schools and ‘to bridge the rural-urban education divide’. We believe that every child has a right to better education. We are committed to raising the quality of education and literacy in rural India and supporting underprivileged children to realise their full potential. We do this by providing access to educational infrastructures like digital tools, libraries, games, financial support, and creating a progressive and positive learning environment for the students by working with the village community, teachers, government and other stakeholders.
Our work and its impact
Our projects seek to create equal opportunities for children in rural areas in order to prepare them for higher education and contribute to making India a stronger nation. Children from rural areas and low-income environments have little access to age-appropriate storybooks. Our aim is to increase children’s interest in education, their level of engagement in school-related activities, improving their learning outcomes, and lowering dropout rates.
How we will utilise these books
Schools are slowly re-opening in Maharashtra, and children are waiting to go back to school. We have identified five government schools in rural Maharashtra in which to set up libraries. The funds raised from this campaign will be used to procure multilingual books from Pratham Books for the five libraries. Our aim is to engage the children in a reading programme organised by our trained educators and teachers. Children will be encouraged to write reviews of the books they read and thereby improve their linguistic and cognitive skills.
