Who we are
Incorporated as a Not-For-Profit Charitable Trust on 26th August 2013, Bangalore based NGO - Happy World Foundation focuses on projects related to education, environment, empowerment, and eliminating hunger. The NGO believes in creating a Happier World.
Project JnanaShala was launched on 5th September 2020 with an objective to support education-related initiatives for the rural kids of Karnataka.
Our work and its impact
Project JnanaShala from Happy World Foundation is an education-based initiative targeted at young kids living in rural villages of Karnataka. The project has covered 5 villages in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka since the launch on 21st November 2020 and has helped rural kids studying in Classes 5th to 10th (a) attend regular online classes broadcasted through DD Chandana channel at the fully-equipped Community Centres set up by us and b) participate in weekly sessions on “Values and Characters” delivered through storytelling.
How we will utilise these books
With an aim to encourage and inculcate the habit of reading among rural children, Happy World Foundation is in the process of setting up libraries in the five villages covered under Project JnanaShala—Kottagalu, Chikkakalabalu, Belaguli, Cheeluru, and Pichanakere—located in Ramanagara district. None of these five villages have a functional library for children and hence they suffer from lack of exposure and poor access to the outside world.
With a motive to inculcate reading habits and help rural kids develop personality, we plan to equip these villages with libraries. Reading in each of these villages will be facilitated by a Grama Gelathi, village friend, appointed by us.
