Who we are
Ahmedabad Book Club, an initiative of the Karma Foundation has been promoting literature since 2012. We do book reading sessions, book discussions, book launches, book publishing, and we also associate with book fairs and literature festivals. We also run campaigns like Readathon and Book Donation Drives. We are happy to introduce our new initiative Bookathon. This campaign is in order to donate books to the economically challenged children. It has been introduced with an aim to enhance book reading culture in society. India has been a society, who always has been deprived of the gift of reading. Some are never introduced to the world of stories due to educational expectations and some due to struggles where the needs of life reduce the sources to learn and grow. We request you to come forward and contribute in building a society that is fond of reading.
Our work and its impact
Ahmedabad Book Club, an initiative of the Karma Foundation is Gujarat’s largest community dedicated to literary appreciation and reading. It provides a platform for literary discussions, author interactions, and activation within the community and beyond. We at Ahmedabad Book Club started out with our journey eight years ago with a brainchild of a possibility and two people. With the stage, we began and now have reached today crossing over 47,000+ online members to conducting various meets every month with collaborations with various groups sprinkled all over the city and state across different genres.
How we will utilise these books
We are connected with RMC and SMC. They will ensure that books will be utilized by children properly. Also, we will donate books in 20 rural schools and their teachers will keep us updated regarding the utilization of the books.
