Who we are
Students from rural part of Mulshi,Velha & Khed block of Pune are eager to know about new things always.They love reading,story telling,performing drama based on the reading & more.Every year they are celebrating Marathi Rajbhasha Din (Marathi Language Day) & World Literacy Day with their seniors & subordinates.
Our work and its impact
Urmee NGO established in 2005 working in Education field since inception.Activity based learning,Constructivism are core objectives of this. Urmee is achieving these through "Library in the Classroom Drive,Library on Wheels,Story telling workshops".
How we will utilise these books
Urmee aims every child must learn in healthy atmosphere.To fulfill this,We established 15 school libraries (central libraries);15 library in the classrooms & 25 library on wheels,thus acheived to reach about approx.3500 students til date.This is not only benefitting to Govt.school students but the communities also. Urmee NGO will provide 30 school libraries (Govt.schools located in rural part of Mulshi,Velha & Khed block) containing Marathi & bilingual books.Students themselves will monitor these libraries.Year bound programs like story telling,meet the author,story based drama,etc.activities will attract more students in this drive.
