Who we are

Englewood Primary School is an inclusive school that has a common learning environment for children from different backgrounds and and different abilities. It strives towards quality education for all students by effectively meeting their learning needs, with equal participation for all. This developing school requires books for these children, to make their time spent in school more meaningful and exciting. The school is managed by the ACTS Group of Institutions.

Our work and its impact

ACTS Group of Institutions (formerly known as ACTS Ministries) is a registered Society working across India in the areas of education, environment, and social entrepreneurship. ACTS was started in 1979 by Dr Ken Gnanakan (PhD London University) and currently works with children and young adults in slums, villages, towns, and cities.

How we will utilise these books

ACTS is an acronym for Agriculture, Crafts, Trades and Studies and the vision has remained strong over the last three decades. Today, ACTS is committed to total development through projects that revolve around education, environment and health programmes. The work at ACTS includes a number of exciting projects, including slum schools, a village community health centre, bio-gas production, and government-recognized schools and colleges that provide affordable quality education across India. ACTS plans to set up a library and a reading programme in the inclusive school, Englewood Primary School. The funds will go towards buying books for this school library.
