Who we are
We are a group of 94 fourth and fifth grade students, studying at a Government school in Bangalore. We enjoy learning and would love to read some story books in English to help us improve our reading and comprehension, expand our vocabulary and explore new worlds!
Our work and its impact
I am a Teach for India Fellow, teaching 94 students in grades 4 and 5 in an under-resourced Government school. My aim is to bridge the current gap to grade present in these classrooms and help students reach a level playing field with their private school counterparts.
How we will utilise these books
Through the Fellowship, I hope to provide a more holistic education to my students by not only providing excellent academic resources but also helping them develop a solid value and belief system and gain the necessary access and exposure to ensure they are on a path of expanded opportunities. The funds will be utilised to purchase 250 English story books to add to our newly built library room. These books will be accessible to all 370 students in the school and we hope to encourage learning through the joy of reading!
