Who we are
Uphaar is a project which encourage people to donate or gift books to the weaker section of the society. We are working with underprivileged students ,who are dropouts or not enrolled in schools. The objective of Uphaar is to inculcate reading values among the students and encourage them to read .This builds their interest towards education .
Our work and its impact
GSM Foundation is a registered (2010) non government organization in India with its head office located in Jamia Nagar ,New Delhi- which work as epicenter of all outreach programs and activities. General Shah Nawaz Memorial foundation focuses on less fortunate children from slums and rural areas living in most difficult circumstances .The organization is different in the sense it takes upon it the parental responsibilities .It strives to provide holistic approach which covers the overall development of a child.
How we will utilise these books
We work on the following seven core programs which helps us strategically achieve our mission Literacy , Livelihoods , Education , Gender Equality Water, Sanitation and Health, Youth & Employment Rights Based Issues children. "Books are Best companions" The most expensive gift for such students is books.As it helps them exploring the world within words. GSM Foundation aims to set up a community Library for such students. We need a Uphaar for our students to give them a better space to dream and learn .
