Who we are
We are a team of passionate individuals who set up libraries in government primary schools (Spiti Valley and Gurgaon). We are currently supporting 14 libraries and are planning to add more libraries this year.
Our work and its impact
Let's Open a Book started in January 2015 with a vision to make reading fun for underprivileged kids. We believe in creating learning opportunities that are driven by the learners themselves.
How we will utilise these books
Our library program consists of setting up libraries in government primary schools. These low-cost libraries are run by the kids from these schools. We currently support 15 libraries, spread over Delhi-NCR and Spiti Valley. The key focus of the organization is to act as enablers for the kids to be able to run their libraries themselves, and take up reading as a habit/hobby. Which in turn will enable them to reason and think and inspire their community to do the same. The books collected from this campaign would be used to provide quality reading materials for 1000+ children, for an entire year. These books would become a part of their school library and children would have free access to the books.
