I am constructing a library in a remote hamlet of tamilnadu where people travel 2 kms to buy a news paper.
Our work and its impact
My name is Jamuna Rani. G I am constructing a library in my mother's village. I am a home maker. But have involved myself with neighbouring govt schools, empowering children to read more. I am also a member of inner wheel club. I was also past parent teacher association president of a govt school. I have seen children struggling to read and write though they are knowledgeable. So I decided to campaign to read more and more.
How we will utilise these books
I am constructing a library in a remote hamlet of tamil nadu. My target is to introduce a library in the village to ease the children in and around villages too to improvise the habit of reading and getting themselves ready to face future study patterns of the society. Rather than a drill to memorize what they study I want to make them believe that reading and understanding is the only way to make their education easier in gaining good marks. The collected funds will be utilises to buy books and set up the library. Planning to do reading programs and competitions for children to draw them towards the habit of reading books.
