Who we are
The children in the urban slums of Kalwa may not have traveled around much. Gabriel Project has a plan to help them explore the world. Through the medium of books, they can travel to new and exciting places without ever leaving their homes. Your support can help introduce 200 children to the pleasure of a good book. It can give them a new beginning, a beginning with books!
Our work and its impact
Gabriel Project Charitable Trust is a Non profit that was established to address the needs of vulnerable children in slum and tribal communities. Education, Nutrition and Healthcare are the 3 main focus areas of the activities undertaken.
How we will utilise these books
Since 2015, Gabriel Project has been working with slum and tribal children through a project called 'Love2Learn'. Our goal was to help children enjoy academics and not to be afraid of it. Through this program 500 children from impoverished backgrounds are provided access to educational support in the form of tutorial classes, along with a daily morning meal and monthly health checkups. Children are the same, it's the opportunities that they are given or denied that impact their future. At Gabriel Project, we try to level the playing field and offer children a chance at a better future regardless of their background ! To help encourage the habit of reading a generous donor offered to build us a library. We would like to fill that library with books that are relevant and interesting for our children to read. The funds will be used to buy books for the children in the slums of Kalwa, Thane.
