Who we are
During one of the many interventions in school, I realized that the students are not able to understand English language properly which hampers their further studies as soon as they step out of their school. I want to set up a library in one of my schools where the students can get access to English books of different levels and build their understanding about the language. The aim is to open a world of imagination for them and give their creative minds a taste of vibrant words and colors.
Our work and its impact
I am a Gandhi fellow working in a rural block of Surat district. I have been working with 45 government Primary schools of Olpad block for 18 months now. I aim to establish a reading and learning culture in one of my schools , Pariya Prathmik Shala which has 143 children. Help me create a community of readers and learners.
How we will utilise these books
Working with 45 schools, 4 clusters on leadership development of middle management education officers for quality education under the District Transformation Program, Surat. Through the concept of self change to system change, we are trying to improve the quality of education in Govt Primary Schools by different modes of interventions and support. The fund will be utilized to set up a library of English books in Pariya Prathmik Shala where total number of children is 143. The library of this school is functional, but there are very few books in the library which can help them to grow a bit closer to the English Language.
