Who we are
AVF is running learning reinforcement camps for at-risk children to improve their pace of learning and better retention at schools. The program also encourages creativity and reading habits among the children. AVF Reading corner aims to set up small library for 4 of our centres with books in Hindi and English languages. 3 of the centres focus on learning activities of grade VI to VIII whereas one of the centre focus on learning activities at primary level.
Our work and its impact
Abhivyakti Foundation is a non profit trust founded in the year 2002. We are working in the districts of North Chhotanagpur and Santhal Parganas of Jhakrhand on the issues of Education, Health and Livelihood. Promotion of reading habits, creativity and learning achievements among children and adolescent is our priority which we try to attain through ongoing learning reinforcement centres, book fair, camps and peer based activities. We are working with children in rural and peri-urban areas who cannot afford diversity of books.
How we will utilise these books
Abhivyakti Foundation encourages youth to associate with children in the society for learning reinforcement camps and creating interest among children for readership, learning and action. We try to make available books, learning kits and resources for these children which encourages them to learn and practice. Abhivyakti Foundation shall use the funds to support classroom library for upper primary level students at 3 centres and primary level students at 1 centre. The books acquired shall be used to facilitate classroom learning activities. The children at centre will manage the library with some rules and regulations for safe handling of books. Books shall be provided to the children for free reading at home for limited period of time only on rotational basis.
