Who we are
"Yes we can" say my 33 bright kids of Grade 5 studying in Government School, Govindrajnagar, Bangalore. I've promised them a classroom that welcomes them with love for reading and exploring more through experience. Growing each day by encouraging, challenging and pushing each other are our motto. The classroom library shall give us the exposure of a different great world of knowledge and open our views and broaden perspectives. Looking forward to this opportunity.
Our work and its impact
I am a first year Teach For India fellow, teaching full time to a bunch of 33 Grade 5 kids in a Government school. I believe in education being the strongest pillar in anyone's life and hence am here to give the best to these kids who deserve no less than the best.
How we will utilise these books
"One day all children will attain an excellent education" being the mission of my organization, I envision my class to be the one where each one's strength is recognized and celebrated and one day each one shall know their strengths and will stand for themselves with the courage to follow their dreams, whatsoever. A strong individual will contribute to a strong community and will thus impact the society by creating a better world. The funds shall be utilized to procure library kits for the classroom which will also extend a lending library to provide other classrooms also with books to read and explore. I aim to create reading corners/mini library in the classroom so that every minute of the children is utilized in the best way. The funds shall help us get the books both in English as well as Kannada so as to improvise their skills of reading even in their native language.
