Who we are
We run free study centers in 10 villages around Arni, Tamilnadu where the school children after school hours will do their homework and learn subjects from the staffs we appointed. This children also regularly volunteering every month in their villages.
Our work and its impact
Team Everest was started in August, 2006 Our first activity was to collect around Rs. 4000 from four people who contributed it from their first month’s salary. We donated uniforms and notebooks to few students in a rural school in Sirumoor (Tiruvannamalai Dt, Tamilnadu, India). From there on, we have grown from strength to strength. More than nine years have passed and now we have 9500+ Volunteers helping people across India by giving time, their skills and money.
How we will utilise these books
We love volunteering. Our objective is to promote volunteering by motivating individuals to volunteer at least once a month (12/365) and make a difference by providing quality education to less privileged children through volunteering. Team Everest will set up libraries in our 10 Study Centers which will be used by our study center students as well villagers to encourage the reading habit among them. This will help us to bring the Reading Champions from the respective Study Centers as follows. 1. Paiyur 2. Kalpoondi 3. Sevoor 4. Kamakkur 5. Nethapakkam 6. Mamandur A 7. Mamandur B 8.
