Who we are
'Sky is the limit' said their didi, as wide eyed third graders listened. Didi has promised her 90 kids that they will soon reach for the stars. She can keep this promise, with your help in getting them access to these books. I am a Teach for India fellow, teaching in an Urdu medium government school in Farooquianagar, Bangalore. These books will open doors that they haven't imagined!
Our work and its impact
I am a fellow with Teach for India, teaching at a government school in Bangalore. Teach for India strives towards 'One day, all children will attain an excellent education'. Through its fellowship program, it places fellows in government and low income private schools as teachers for two years.
How we will utilise these books
We teach in low income schools, aiming for a holistic development of the child. Academic achievement, exposure and values are all given importance in equal amounts. The funds will be used to build a little class library of grade level English books, which are accessible to 90 kids of the 3rd grade.
