Who we are
Our school was started in 1994 with just 2 teachers and 8 students. Today, it serves 150 children from 14 remote villages. We strive to provide a joyful learning experience and we are reaching out to 4 private schools in more remote areas. Support us to provide an environment to help them grow and think independently.
Our work and its impact
Aarohi is a not-for-profit grassroots organization, involved in integrated rural development in the Central Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. Our mission is creating development opportunities for rural Himalayan communities through quality education, healthcare, promotion of livelihoods and any other development interventions.
How we will utilise these books
Work extends through Nainital, Almora and Bageshwar districts and activities relate primarily to Health Care, Education, Livelihoods, Energy and Forest Management. By consistent engagement, Aarohi touches the lives of over 100,000 people annually. Today, the organization employs 107 full-time staff. We will be using these books to build a library at each one of these 5 schools - ABS in Satoli, HIteshi in Garur, HPS in Basgaon, Jeewanshala in Madham, and MKBS in Jhulaghat, One kit per school. Our goal is to create a joyful learning environment and achieve an acceptable learning level in each of these schools.
