How we will utilise these books

My role here is to lead the class of 40 kids who belong to a low income school, towards the love of learning. Besides the school curriculum, I teach them the Teach For India curriculum too, which involves Literacy, Mathematics, Speaking & Listening and Values. I also try in to give access and exposure to their other areas of interest like craft, drawing games, dance etcetera. My aim is to give the equal opportunity of learning that I got, that most of us, middle/ high income family kids gets in the best possible way, using right resources and the methods to teach. Its impact on the society is parallel. They come from the community where education is not encouraged perhaps for the mere reason of ignorance to its importance, or the wonders it can bring into one’s life or because of the limited exposure they get in the society they live in. And so, we aim to plant the seeds of awareness and give exposure to ways in which education could fulfil their needs and expose them to world around. The funds will be utilised in the classroom for inculcating the love towards reading and the doors of imagination it will open to. Our goal is to build a classroom library for the kids by the end of the year. We believe that the skill of 'being able to read, comprehend and imagine' at this age will not only boost the confidence of our kids but also will help them form a habit of reading which is essential and important aspect for creating the literate society in this world.
