'A book is a dream that you hold in your hand' says Neil Gaiman. Akshara Jyothi Trust's goal is to nurture the dream in every child in rural area. A book can help the child to groom to be a more caring, more humane being. Join hands with Akshara Jyothi Trust in their mission to have a library in every classroom.
Our work and its impact
Akshara Jyothi Trust was started 6 years ago to build gap between education in rural areas and cities. Geographical location should not define the quality of education. The quality of education provided should be same for all children. Akshara Jyothi Trust thrives to make this a reality.
How we will utilise these books
Affordable schooling on par with rest of the society is the long term goal of Akshara Jyothi Trust Akshara Jyothi Trust would like to have a library in classroom for each class in its 'Rural Public School'. The plan is to help the children nurture reading habit. Gradually extend reading habit to all the students in the village by making the library available for all the kids in the village.
