Who we are
The books you donate will help special children of AIKYA school to have access to good and beautiful picture books. The students are very enthusiastic about the new stories, learn new words, and also paint the pictures from the books. The books will be a good motivation and will help the special child reach a significant milestone in reading and other developmental areas.
Our work and its impact
Hello Everyone. Very glad to meet you all through the Pratham books Donate-a-Book initiative. I am a blogger, trainer, and instructional designer who is actively involved as a volunteer with NGOs. I am also a storyteller who has undergone storytelling training from professional storytellers. I work as a content writer in an IT firm.
How we will utilise these books
I have been a reading champion for Pratham Books. I have conducted five reading sessions for Pratham Books including the one for the World Read Aloud Day. The reading sessions have taken place in NGOs, lending libraries for underprivileged kids, and also in schools. My work for Pratham has been mentioned in the Huffington Post. Through my blogs, i have helped promote causes of a lot of NGOs, have covered their events, activities, and also propagated their competitions and fund-raising campaigns. The funds you give for Donate-a-Book will be utilized to purchase approximately 200 books for the kids. We also plan to conduct reading sessions with these books that will help not only the children of AIKYA, but also special kids from other schools and even the general public. We plan to share the books with few other NGOs that work with children too.
