Who we are

Sri Subramanyeshwara Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2014, committed to empowering underserved rural communities through education, rural healthcare, disability inclusion, elderly care, and sustainable livelihood initiatives.

We strongly believe that books can transform lives. A good book inspires curiosity, expands knowledge, builds confidence, and opens doors to opportunities that many rural children have never imagined. By creating vibrant reading spaces with engaging children's storybooks from Pratham Books, we hope to nurture a love for reading and help every child dream, and grow. Your support will bring the joy of reading to children who have limited access to quality books and help shape brighter futures.

Our work and its impact

Our flagship Akshara–Aahara program supports 250 children from economically disadvantaged families across 5 learning centres in the Chintamani and Gudibande Taluks of Chikkaballapur District, Karnataka. The program provides after-school academic support, nutritious meals, spoken English, digital literacy, Scratch programming, personality development, and access to books through community libraries.

By addressing educational gaps and malnutrition together, we help children stay in school, improve learning outcomes, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Our library initiative encourages reading habits, creativity, and critical thinking, empowering children to become lifelong learners.

Beyond education, we work to strengthen rural communities by promoting inclusive development, supporting persons with disabilities, caring for disadvantaged elderly people, and encouraging sustainable livelihood opportunities. Our programs are community-driven and designed to create long-term social change.

Through these integrated interventions, the Foundation is helping build healthier, better-educated, and more resilient rural communities, enabling children and their families to break the cycle of poverty and build brighter futures with dignity and opportunity.

How we will utilise these books

The funds raised through this fundraiser will be used to procure Pratham Books' children's storybooks for our Akshara–Aahara learning centres. These books will help establish and strengthen reading corners where children can discover the joy of reading beyond their school textbooks.

The storybooks will be made available during after-school sessions, dedicated reading hours, weekend activities, and holiday learning camps. Teachers and volunteers will conduct storytelling sessions, guided reading activities, book discussions, vocabulary-building exercises, and reading comprehension sessions to improve language skills, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence.

The books will also support spoken English and classroom readng by encouraging children to read independently and discuss stories with their peers. A simple lending system will enable children to borrow books and read them at home with their families, fostering a culture of reading within the community.
