Know more about us

Who we are

Jai Vaishnavi Mata Education Society, Kherda (JVMESK) is a registered NGO committed to grassroots educational development in rural Maharashtra. For the past five years, we have worked to address challenges in children’s education, focusing on empowering students and strengthening village-level schooling systems.

Our team comprises young working professionals who have taken on the responsibility of promoting child education and awareness through various initiatives for children and families in Tehsil Pathri, District Parbhani. We operate entirely on donations—supported by contributions from corporations and our members—with the goal of providing quality education, facilities, and resources to children from farmer and low-income families who are often deprived of these essentials.

Our work and its impact

JVMESK is dedicated to creating opportunities for rural children to develop strong reading habits. We have established libraries in multiple villages, offering free access to books and creating safe, engaging spaces for learning.

Our Active Reading Program encourages students from Classes 1 to 10 to spend at least one hour regularly reading books of their choice—whether academic, general interest, poetry, or stories. This initiative helps improve subject knowledge, language skills, and overall confidence.

How we will utilise these books

We are raising funds to set up libraries stocked with books published by Pratham Books at PM Shri Zila Parishad Central Primary School, Manwat, Tehsil Manwat, District Parbhani, Maharashtra.

This project will benefit students from Classes 1 to 8, granting them free access to quality reading material. Dedicated reading hours will be introduced in schools, allowing students to gather and read in a structured environment. Parents and teachers will also be encouraged to engage with these resources, fostering a culture of reading within the community.
