Who we are
Agastya International Foundation is a non-governmental organization located at Gudivanka, Gudupalli, Kuppam Taluk, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. The organization works extensively with children from underserved communities, focusing on education, creativity, and holistic development. We are serving underprivileged students in the rural Kuppam area of Andhra Pradesh. Our motto is “Every child ready to read and write.”
Agastya’s vision is to create a world of tinkerers, innovators, and solution-seekers who are humane, grounded, and connected to society with a mission is to spark curiosity (Aah!), nurture creativity (Aha!), and instill confidence and caring (Ha-Ha!) in children and teachers through transformative experiential learning.
Our work and its impact
We run an outreach program called Operation Vasantha, a night school initiative designed to address alarming school dropout rates caused by rural poverty and limited access to education. Operation Vasantha is not only about reintegrating dropouts into learning but also about empowering communities and creating long-term social change, one village at a time. We currently operate 60 night schools around our campus and have also established five community libraries alongside the Operation Vasantha night schools.
Powered by dedicated volunteers, these night schools provide a vital learning space for children and youth who cannot attend regular schools. In addition to academic support, the program promotes holistic development through arts and crafts, reading sessions, and hygiene awareness activities.
How we will utilise these books
The books raised through this fundraiser will be a part of our Operation Vasantha and community librabries. Children will be encouraged to borrow books from the libraries and return them safely. To borrow a new book, a child is required to share the story they read with their peers. This approach helps improve comprehension, builds communication skills, and fosters a sense of responsibility and respect for books.
As a result, children are excited to borrow books, share stories, and discover the joy and value of reading.
