Who we are

Aikarthya Foundation is a not-for-profit organization working with children and teachers in under-resourced schools across India. Our vision is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality learning opportunities that build their head, heart, and hands.

Through our flagship programmes for teachers and students—we support schools with practical resources and training that make classrooms more engaging and inclusive.

This Daan Utsav, we are raising funds to bring storybooks to over 2500 children in Grades 2 to 5. With your support, we hope to nurture a love for reading, build strong foundational skills, and open a world of imagination for children who often have no access to books at home.

Our work and its impact

At Aikarthya, we work closely with schools in low-income communities to strengthen teaching-learning practices and ensure that children do not miss out on foundational skills. Many of the students we serve are first-generation learners, and limited exposure to reading materials makes it difficult for them to build confidence in literacy.

By equipping teachers with better tools and children with engaging storybooks, we aim to reduce learning gaps and make education joyful. Our approach focuses not only on academic success but also on building curiosity, empathy, and resilience in young learners.

Every small step—like putting a storybook into a child’s hand—contributes to a bigger change: enabling them to dream, learn, and grow into empowered citizens.

How we will utilise these books

The books will be distributed across 20 partner schools serving children from Grades 2 to 5. We will procure Level 1 and Level 2 books from Pratham Books, ensuring that the reading material matches the language and comprehension levels of the children.

Teachers will integrate the books into daily classroom activities, and each school will also set up a small class library corner where students can borrow books, read aloud, and share stories with peers. The books will be used in reading sessions, storytelling circles, and as take-home readers to encourage family reading.

Your contribution will directly help 2,500 children build a reading habit, improve foundational skills, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning.
