Who we are
Jhuggi Jhopdi Shiksha Sewa Samiti was founded with the mission to educate and uplift children living in urban slums, our organisation currently supports more than 100 underprivileged children through community-driven teaching and volunteer-led initiatives. Thousands of children in Jhuggi Jhopadis dream of education but lack basic resources, and our mission is to bridge this gap and build "a world where every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to build a better future."
Our work and its impact
Our organisation has already educated more than 10,000 children, creating meaningful and lasting change in marginalised communities. Through initiatives such as Mid-Day Meals, Free Medical Camps, and Awareness Sessions conducted by certified trainers, we ensure that children receive holistic support that goes beyond academics. We regularly celebrate national festivals to foster unity, inclusivity, and cultural pride, creating a sense of belonging among the children.
Books are more than printed pages—they are gateways to knowledge, awareness, and opportunity. When we donate books to children living in Jhuggi Jhopadis, we are not just supporting their education; we are contributing to long-term social upliftment.
How we will utilise these books
The procured storybooks will be used to create small community libraries, reading corners, and study groups where children can gather to read. These books will also be distributed to children living in Jhuggi Jhopadis Kids. Volunteers and teachers will guide the kids in using these books to improve reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Beyond academics, these books will spark imagination, build confidence, and inspire dreams — ensuring that every child has access to books and the chance to build a brighter future.
