Who we are

Chalkpiece is a non-profit organisation that uses design as a powerful tool to address social challenges. We work closely with children, teachers, and communities, engaging them through creative education, awareness programs, and design thinking workshops to make quality learning accessible for all.

At Chalkpiece, we believe that design education has the power to transform the way students learn and solve problems. Our vision is to integrate design education into schools and colleges, particularly in underprivileged areas, so that every child has the opportunity to think creatively and apply these skills to real-world challenges.

To make this vision a reality, we provide innovative learning aids and design libraries, train educators and volunteers in design thinking, and conduct awareness programs that touch upon life skills, health, environment, and leadership. We also run community-led projects that nurture creativity, empathy, and social responsibility, helping children grow into problem-solvers and change-makers of tomorrow.

Our work and its impact

Chalkpiece uses design and creativity to strengthen education in schools and communities. We set up design libraries, provide learning aids, and conduct workshops for students and teachers on design thinking, life skills, health, environment, leadership, and career guidance.

Through our programs, children learn to think critically, solve problems creatively, and build confidence. Teachers trained through our fellowships are introducing design-based methods in classrooms, creating long-term impact on learning. We also run awareness sessions and community-led projects, ensuring that both students and society benefit from creative solutions to everyday challenges.

So far, we have reached over 5,000 students, conducted more than 300 awareness programs, and addressed 50+ social issues. Our mobile initiative, the “Chalk Van” takes learning resources and creative workshops to rural and underserved areas.

By combining creativity with education, Chalkpiece empowers young people with the skills they need to succeed, while helping communities reduce learning gaps and prepare the next generation to tackle social challenges responsibly.

How we will utilise these books

The storybooks procured through this fundraiser will be used to strengthen learning and creativity in schools and communities supported by Chalkpiece. They will be placed in our Design Libraries established in government schools, community centres, and village halls giving children access to quality learning resources beyond their standard curriculum. Teachers will integrate the books into classroom activities, while students can use them for independent reading, project-based learning, and developing problem-solving skills.

In addition, the books will support our workshops and awareness programs by serving as teaching aids for sessions on life skills, environment, health, leadership, and design thinking. They will also travel with our Chalk Van mobile program, which brings creative resources to rural and underserved areas, ensuring that children without access to libraries still benefit.

By making these books available, we will foster a culture of curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Children will expand their imagination, and gain confidence, while teachers will have valuable resources to enrich their lessons. Ultimately, these books will also inspire children to think critically, solve real-world problems, and become responsible change-makers in their communities.
