Who we are
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) is a committed community group dedicated to supporting the education and well-being of the Kuki community in Manipur. Recognizing the power of education in transforming lives, KSO not only establishes community schools but also fosters a love for reading among displaced children.By creating safe spaces for both academic and emotional growth, KSO continues to build a brighter, more hopeful future for the children.
Our work and its impact
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has played a vital role in sustaining education despite the challenges created by the unrest in Manipur. By establishing community schools, KSO provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for children whose education has been disrupted.
The organization mobilizes volunteer teachers, ensuring their continued support through a modest honorarium. With assistance from various donors, KSO effectively manages resources to equip schools with essential materials, addressing students' educational needs.
A key focus of KSO's work is preventing dropouts among junior school children, ensuring they remain engaged in their studies. Beyond academics, KSO provides emotional and psychological support to children affected by trauma, fostering resilience and hope. Through this holistic approach, KSO has been instrumental in maintaining educational continuity and building a brighter future for children.
How we will utilise these books
The books procured through this campaign, sourced from Pratham Books will serve multiple purposes to greatly benefit the displaced children. Teachers can use them to supplement classroom lessons, providing additional reading materials and references that enhance students' understanding of various subjects. Students will have the opportunity to engage in independent reading, exploring their interests and developing a love for reading, which can improve their reading skills and critical thinking.
For children who have experienced trauma, books will provide emotional support and comfort through stories of hope and resilience. Overall, the library will be a versatile resource center, enriching the students' love of reading and personal growth.
With your support, we can bring the joy of reading to children in need. Every contribution helps us build a stronger, more hopeful future for the children.
