Who we are

The Community Development Association (CDA) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering local communities. Established in 2019, CDA focuses on fostering positive change through initiatives in education, health, sports, gender equality, and civic engagement. By addressing the unique needs and leveraging the resources of each community, CDA aims to create strong, vibrant, and self-sustaining societies. Additionally, CDA advocates for policy reforms that enhance community well-being, enabling individuals and families to take an active role in their own development.


Our work and its impact

The CDA Library Program is committed to bridging educational gaps for children in marginalized communities. By providing access to storybooks and fostering a nurturing learning environment, we aim to:

  • -Cultivate a love for reading among children.
  • -Improve literacy skills, especially for those facing educational barriers.
  • -Support children at risk of dropping out by making learning engaging and accessible.
Our program is designed to boost children's confidence, reduce stress, and reignite their interest in education. By doing so, we nurture young minds, promote lifelong learning, and contribute to building a more equitable society.


How we will utilise these books

The books from Pratham Books will serve as tools to spark curiosity and a love for learning among children. They will be used to:

  1. Conduct engaging storytelling sessions that inspire imagination.
  2. Organise guided reading activities to enhance literacy skills.
  3. Provide a diverse range of genres to cater to different interests and age groups.
  4. Support struggling readers with specially curated materials to build confidence.
  5. Create a safe and stress-free environment where children can explore books at their own pace, fostering independent learning habits.
With these activities, we aim to directly impact 300 children from low-income urban areas in Matang Rishi Nagar. By addressing learning gaps and promoting literacy, this initiative will empower these children to dream big and achieve their goals.
