Who we are

Jai Vaishnavi Mata Education Society, Kherda [JVMESK], is dedicated to grassroots development initiatives that involve and empower students and the rural education system in Maharashtra's villages. JVMESK has been addressing children's education concerns for the past five years. Comprising a group of young working professionals, we have assumed the responsibility of child education and awareness, guiding them through various activities for the children and families in Tehsil Pathri District, Parbhani. We are a registered NGO and rely solely on donations, with contributions from larger corporations and our own group members. Our primary objective is to raise awareness about this project to provide the best education, facilities, and amenities for children and families who are typically deprived of these essentials. Our main focus is on supporting children from farmer and low-income families, providing them with education to the best of our abilities.

Our work and its impact

JVMESK is committed to empowering rural children by establishing libraries in various villages, thereby creating spaces for reading where children can access books freely. We have an active reading program designed to assist children from Class 1 to 10 in making the most of these libraries. We aim for children to spend at least one hour regularly reading a book of their choice, whether it's academic material, general interest, poetry, or stories. This helps them enhance their subject knowledge and language skills.

How we will utilise these books

We are raising funds to establish libraries with books published by Pratham Books in Zilla Parishad Primary and Secondary School Borgavan, Tehsil Pathri District in Parbhani, Maharashtra. This initiative will benefit rural students from classes 1 to 10. It will grant free access to books for approximately 600 children. Additionally, we intend to implement dedicated reading hours in the schools, allowing students to gather and read the books. Parents and teachers will also have the opportunity to access and engage with these books.
