Our work and its impact

THE-SARA, under its 'Mission Compassion' through the 'Share with Schools' initiative, periodically supports school children in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh with books, notebooks, stationery items, computer labs, and libraries. Through this initiative, and with the support of Pratham Books, THE-SARA has contributed 'Library in Classrooms' to 12 schools across Jammu & Kashmir.

How we will utilise these books

THE-SARA, under 'Mission Compassion' through the 'Share with Schools' initiative, aims to set up libraries in schools located in the Union Territory of Ladakh. More than 300 students from rural backgrounds will benefit from this campaign. The books will be distributed across schools in Drass, Kargil, Nubra, and Batalik, focusing on children in rural areas, low-income urban areas, tribal areas, and those with special needs or who are differently-abled. The campaign targets to impact approximately 500 children, providing them with English language books to enhance their literacy skills and broaden their educational opportunities.
