Who we are

To cater to the holistic learning needs of the children who are mostly first-generation English learners, St. Thomas English Medium School (STEMS) is striving to create an environment where children pick up language skills through multiple means. Towards this end, STEMS is creating a library for children in its Kolwadi campus. (Kolwadi is a small village in Maval Taluka in Pune District of Maharashtra).


Our work and its impact

St. Thomas English Medium School (STEMS) is a non-profit educational initiative of the Western India Zonal Assembly (WIZA) of The Mar Thoma Church.


How we will utilise these books

STEMS is a rural school catering to the quality education needs of villages around Kamshet in Pune district. STEMS is the only English medium school in a radius of 10-11 kms. The funds raised will be used for building up a library for the use of children and teachers. The primary focus is on developing language skills through an interactive and fun approach using simple story books. This will also aid in improving the creativity and imagination skills of children.
