Who we are

Valpoi Education Society is pleased to announce the recent opening of our NGO library, Shri Hanuman Vachanalay, in Valpoi, Goa, inaugurated on August 15, 2023. Our library welcomes 30-40 visitors daily, with potential for more as we expand our collection of books and reading materials. Located adjacent to Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya School, the library serves over 550 students and teachers, as well as community members from the surrounding area.

Our primary goal is to engage students and community members with books to enhance their knowledge and reading skills. We seek support from esteemed organisations and donors to help us enrich our library, providing essential information to our readers.

Our Society/NGO holds valid 12A and 80G Income Tax exemptions, applicable to all donations made to our library.

Our work and its impact

Founded in 1984, Valpoi Education Society initiated Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya in Valpoi Sattari, Goa. Over the years, we have expanded to include a pre-primary school and now educate over 700 students. To date, more than 4,500 students have graduated.

Beyond education, our society actively supports community health through organised blood donation and medical camps for students, their parents, and local residents.

Recently, we embarked on empowering women through a three-month certification course in Tailoring and Embroidery, benefiting nearly 100 women in Valpoi, Sattari. This year, we also launched a significant Rain Water Harvesting project within the school premises, with a potential to recharge approximately 100,000 litres of water to the ground annually.

How we will utilise these books

Our library primarily serves school students and community members. The storybooks from Pratham Books will significantly benefit students by improving their knowledge and reading skills, particularly those from low-income families and first-generation learners. These engaging books will help maintain their interest in reading over digital distractions.
