Who we are
Ovee Trust is a registered not-for-profit organisation working towards enhancing the quality of education and fostering a joyful childhood for children belonging to tribal and nomadic communities. Our efforts are focused in Maharashtra, where we operate community-based learning centres and library programs tailored for schools, communities, and parents.
Our work and its impact
The 'Balkatta' program was established with the goal of cultivating a reading culture among students in order to promote their linguistic and intellectual development. Additionally, it seeks to provide exposure to books in rural tribal areas. Through various book-based activities, we aim to develop life skills, encourage critical thinking, and promote values-based education. Our primary objective is to make learning enjoyable and fun while also nurturing social-emotional learning.
How we will utilise these books
The funds from this campaign will be used to get Marathi and English storybooks from Pratham Books for a community library in Dhangarwadi. 110 children will benefit from this initiative and get close access to multilingual storybooks as they learn to read fluently in both English and their mother tongue. The storybooks from Pratham Books are engaging and filled with colourful illustrations to help the Balkatta programme scale its impact and encourage children to develop a reading habit.
