Our story

We are a class of 50 enthusiastic 5th graders studying in a Government school in Pune. We require books for our school library project; we wish to read more books and in our preferred language and at our reading level. We believe that books have the power to ignite minds. If you believe, you're what you're because of the kind of education you got and you believe that all kids deserve to get an excellent education, then go ahead and help us. And, you never know which book might inspire the next Mandela, Jobs or Mother Teresa? :)

Who we are

I am Ankit. I am teaching a bunch of fifty 5th graders, with great potential, in a low income government school in bibwewadi, pune. I am in my second year of Teach for India's fellowship. The Teach For India Fellowship program is a 2 year full-time paid commitment in which promising graduates and professionals are placed, as full-time teachers, in under-resourced and low-income schools.

Our work and its impact

We, 50 children, have the responsibility to learn, as we'd contribute (in small drops) in shaping the future of India. Therefore, we are trying to equip ourselves with skills which may help us in creating a safe and happy environment for ourselves and anybody we touch in general.

How we will utilize these funds

We are planning to set up a school library for over 700 students that study in our school. We are planning to plant seeds of happiness in lives of children around us. And, the best way to do that is through books (and more books) :)
